About Me

I am bilingual Spanish/Galician and lived and worked in the UK for over twenty years, which means that I have an excellent familiarity with the English language and culture.

I graduated in translation and interpreting (French>Spanish/Galician) in my twenties and then spent twenty years teaching Spanish in the UK. To update my skills, I completed an MA in Specialised Translation (English>Spanish) at the University of Portsmouth (UK) in 2018, obtaining a distinction overall and also in the medical and journalistic translation units as well as in the dissertation, where I practised, researched and discussed food and cookbook translation.

More recently, I completed a 3-month specialisation course in culinary translation, followed by courses in wine translation and SEO translation.

I have always been interested in humanitarian issues, particularly children's and women's rights and, very especially, migration. More recently, my interests concentrated in health and nutrition.

Finally, I'm an affiliate member of ITI, a member of Mediterranean Editors and Translators, and a Chartered Linguist.
